New Platform Upgrades, New Web Site, New Blog
Today is a big day for Gomez – we’ve performed a hat trick. We’ve
- delivered our biggest platform-wide product release,
- launched this blog and
- revamped the entire Gomez Web site.
Many of our experts will be posting to this blog with observations and analysis about Internet performance, the multi-browser world we live in, the need to understand that “the Internet is your new data center,” and the challenges of dealing with Rich Internet and Web 2.0 apps. But meantime, I have the pleasure of sharing the news about today’s launch — what I consider to be the biggest product release in our company’s history.
Today we announced the release of new functionality across the entire Gomez platform. This encompasses new and improved capabilities in all of our major solution areas: Web load and performance testing, Web cross-browser testing, Web performance monitoring, and Web performance business analysis. It’s the first time we’ve done a platform-wide release, and it’s a model we’re adopting for future releases.
Why?
First, we believe in the power of an integrated platform. In order to make all the pieces integrate and work well together, it’s often necessary to upgrade them at the same time. Second, it gives us the chance to do some major architectural advancements across the platform. And third, it makes it easier for our customers to digest the improvements, because they can focus on the release a couple times a year rather than trying to catch up with asynchronous changes on a continual basis.
So what did we announce and release today? Here are the summary highlights:
- A new recorder that simplifies test creation and maintenance, even for RIA transactions that use AJAX, Flash, etc.
- Expanded family of multi-browser testing agents that precisely measure Web performance for different browsers
- General availability of our integrated solutions for testing and monitoring mobile Web sites, applications and SMS services
- Increased high-volume capacity combined with broader “Last Mile” geographic reach for load testing
- A new integrated diagnostic dashboard that indicates if a performance issue is caused by the customer, a vendor, or the Internet
- Added cross-browser testing capabilities – for over 5,000 mobile devices.
